Forgive, forget, and move on,
I don’t know, how you do it.
‘Cause 4 years and 5 months later,
I still can’t look myself in the mirror.
After what I did to you,
I don’t know me anymore.
Who am I? I have no clue,
And my heart is still sore.
But you forgave me in an instant,
Didn’t even ask for an explanation.
And years later, I still ponder…
“Did you care?” I wonder.
‘Cause if our places were reversed,
We would no longer stay friends,
That would have been the end.
For this poem, I took a line, ‘If our positions had been reversed, would I have forgiven her?’ from The Queen of Hearts by Kimmery Martin.
