3 am, and working…

Poetry

Sleepy eyes, tired mind,
All I want is my bed.
It’s already 3 am,
And I really need my nap.

But deadlines to be met,
Projects to be wrapped,
I can’t sleep just yet,
I’m overloaded, swamped!

But oh wait, don’t pity me,
For having to stay awake.
I procrastinated all day,
So, I guess this is okay.

I binged on Young Sheldon,
Munching cinnamon buns,
Thinking about the pending tasks,
As I just lazily relax.

Now I’m burning the midnight oil,
Cribbing about how I have to toil,
Damn! I’m such a lazy person.
Bye! I gotta get work done!

    1. I’ll get to it dear. It’s 3:21 am here, and I’ve got so much to do… But I’d rather write stupid poems that actually work… 🤪🤪🤪Your Q&A shall be the first thing I do, as soon as I finish this. 😂😂

  1. You’re burning the midnight oil…by adding desire & hope in dark & gloomy flames….
Btw…do you ever sleep, bat girl? 🔥

      1. Haha….”I usually always sleep”…you’re adorable…I’m about to go to bed, it’s soon midnight here. Sleep well ❤️😴

  2. This is so relatable and well written! Procrastination is something we all wrestle with, but you have put a humorous spin on it while holding true to the repercussions. Well done, Shreya! Your poetry continues to shine! ❤🌹

    1. Thank you so much Brad. So glad you liked it. 🙈🙈🙈 Your appreciation keeps motivating me to keep writing! 💕💕🥰❣️❤️

  3. Every poem of yours which I am clicking on and reading.. It is compelling me to save.
