GEMS Journey

Poetry, Writer life

Red, Green, Yellow, Blue,
Little colorful candies,
Oh, how I loved them!
They are heaven in the taste buds,
Gotta thank Cadbury for that.

So when daddy told me GEMS,
Graded English Media School,
Wasn’t what I though of.
I imagined Hansel & Gretel stories
A fairy tale kinda building.

But then came the admission test,
Tall buildings that I got lost in,
Made of bricks not chocolates,
Scary looking invigilators,
Oh, how my childish dream shattered!

To my greatest surprise I got in,
And twelve-year journey began.
Met friends like families,
Shared stories, made memories,
Explored every nook & cranny.

From laps around football ground,
To faking sickness in basketball court,
Anything to get out of ECA,
Oh damn, those were the days!
Truly better than GEMS chocolate.

For NaPoWriMo Day 2.

  1. A fun and entertaining post, Shreya! Well written and shared in a way that helps the reader to understand your journey. It is always intriguing how what we anticipate and our reality can be so distant sometimes. Stay safe and much love! ❤
